Mahi Mahi- Fagatele National Marine Sanctuary

Mahi mahi are locally called Masi masi in American Samoa. This one put up a spectacular battle about 5 miles offshore Fagatele Bay NMS.
Niko Pappas caught and released this beautiful Red Snapper while fishing south of Gray's Reef off the East Coast of Florida with old friends and family. This area is heavily protected by
the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council.
This was my son Fynn's (17 years old) first sailfish, which we decided to keep. He caught it on a light rod with 15 pound test. He did an awesome job during the fight. The American Samoan kids at the boat ramp were super excited when we hoisted the 98 pound fish out of the boat.
